Jose Mourinho’s return to his former hunting ground didn’t go as planned as Marcus Thuram helped Inter Milan to a narrow win, courtesy of a late goal. Mourinho’s AS Roma, looking to keep up their recent streak of successive wins, created little compared to the home side, who racked up 19 shots in their attempt to break the deadlock. Inter’s efforts were rewarded in the 81st minute when summer signing Thuram, son of former French international and Juventus star Lilian Thuram, scored his fifth goal of the season to take his team to the top of the league for now.
