India Vs Afghanistan, 2nd T20I: Rohit Sharma To Achieve Another Milestone In Shortest Format

The Indian cricket team's captain, Rohit Sharma, has earned a great reputation in T20 internationals. He is the second-highest run-scorer in the format with a tally of 3853 runs. As he returns to the T20I format with the ongoing series against Afghanistan, he is on the verge of reaching another milestone. (Key Battles | Streaming)

India are scheduled to play Afghanistan in the second match of the T20I series at Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore on Sunday. When Rohit Sharma leads the side in the second T20I, he will become the only player to feature in the 150 T20 international matches. He is already leading the chart with 149 matches.

Star batter Virat Kohli is the second Indian on the list with 115 international matches. Kohli leads the run-chart with 4008 runs. He will also be available for the selection in the second T20I on Sunday. 

Rohit Sharma had not played any T20 international match for the last 14 months before featuring in the first T20I against Afghanistan on Thursday. Ireland's captain Paul Stirling is in the second spot with 134 matches. His compatriot George Dockrell is in third place with 128 T20I matches, followed by Pakistan's Shoaib Malik (124) and New Zealand's Martin Guptill (122).

Rohit Sharma also holds the joint record for the most centuries in the T20Is. He has hit four centuries with the highest score of 118 runs. Australia's Glenn Maxwell and India's Suryakumar Yadav also have four hundred in the shortest format. Sharma also has the third-most half-centuries (33) in the T20Is.

The 36-year-old cricketer holds the record for hitting the most sixes in T20Is - a total of 182 sixes and 348 fours in the newest format. However, in the first match against Afghanistan in Mohali, he unfortunately got dismissed for a duck after being involved in a horrible run-out with Shubman Gill. This duck in the first game brings his total number of ducks in T20Is to 11, which is also the highest.
