Transgender people will get separate toilets at Delhi Metro stations, which were earlier reserved for persons with disability. At present, Delhi Metro has 347 separate toilets. Besides ­addressing a longstanding demand of the transgender community, the move complies with provisions in the Transgender ­Persons (Protection of Rights) Act, 2019.

The Supreme Court has sought to know why charges have not been framed against Hameer Ui Uddin, who is in jail since 2010 over the 1993 serial blasts in Rajdhani Express and other trains. “Convict him or acquit him,” it said and underlined every citizen’s right to trial. Hameer’s lawyer said detaining an accused indefinitely without trial violates Article 21.

The Narcotics Control Bureau has arr­ested actor Armaan Kohli after cocaine was found in his Juhu home in Mumbai. The action against Kohli followed TV ­actor Gaurav Dixit’s arrest by the agency. Kohli featured in the Salman Khan-starter Prem Ratan Dhan Payo among other films and was also a contestant in the reality show Bigg Boss.
