  • Introduce Bullet Trains to Delhi, 35 per cent faster than the Rajdhani.
  • Develop Rajdhani and Shatabdi as "umbrella brands".
  • Introduce two more Rajdhanis from Mumbai and one from Ahmedabad.
  • On routes under 500 km, charge a premium for round trip tickets.

  • Link all international airports by rail lines for freight as well as passenger traffic.
  • Provide Rajdhani-level services in long-distance cross-country trains, beginning with nine trains, with increased fares.
  • Phase out passenger trains over the next few years and replace by faster mainline EMUs and diesel EMUs.
  • Overhaul Shatabdi services in the next few months: redesign coaches, redistribute space, improve service.
