Another leader who was a contender for the CM's post, Mukesh Agnihotri, was sworn in as Deputy Chief Minister. The Congress has come to power in Himachal after defeating Jairam Thakur-led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government and winning 40 of the 68 seats in the recently-held elections.
