About The Author

Pavan Mehta, a third‑generation photographer at Mahatta & Co., joined the family studio in 1984 after qualifying as a Chartered Accountant. Over the decades, he became one of India’s early adopters of digital imaging, worked with leading corporates, and won recognition in the 1998 International Hasselblad Competition. He also authored Picturing a Century, a book and exhibition tracing Mahatta & Co.’s 100‑year journey, and continues to preserve the studio’s iconic archives while steering it into the digital era.
