Recently, at a promotional event for Nani starrer 'Hi Nanna', Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna's vacation pictures were shown. In a recent interview, Nani has now addressed the issue. He also apologised for the controversy.

The pre-release event of the movie 'Hi Nanna' in Visakhapatnam grabbed the headlines as Vijay and Rashmika's Maldives holiday pics were necessarily displayed on a big screen and it was not even related to the film. This left everyone present at the event shocked including actress Mrunal Thakur.

For the unversed, Rashmika and Vijay are rumoured to be dating each other but they haven't made it official yet.

In an interview with M9, Nani was asked why the pics were displayed in the public domain. To which he called it 'unfortunate'' and added, ''Even before I realised what was happening, the picture was taken down. We are all close friends. Vijay and Rashmika realise these things are happening. But, if someone was truly hurt by it, the team and I apologise for it."

The 'Jersey' actor also said that neither the team nor anchor Suma knew Rashmika and Vijay's pictures would be shown during the event. He also said that whoever had done it, is already scared. "It’s a movie event, not one for a gossip website for us to pull such stunts", Nani said further.

At the event, host Suma questioned the organisers about displaying the pictures. She said, "You are the one who went to Bali that day. I had a doubt then only. Are you even supposed to click such pictures? Even if you are a celebrity photographer, there is something called privacy. Whatever they see, they put it on display. I am sorry about this."
