BTS' V And UMI Set To Collaborate On A Romantic Track 'Wherever U R', Fans Call It 'Pure Magic'

Global sensation V and American singer UMI are collaborating on a new song 'Wherever U R,' officials confirm.

The 'Layover' singer V of BTS teamed up with American R&B songstress UMI for a brand new song titled 'Wherever U R.' This unique and unexpected collaboration beautifully fuses V's heartfelt vocals paired with UMI's seamless melodies to create a romantic harmony. 

BIGHIT MUSIC as well as UMI took to their respective social media platforms to share the announcement. The anticipation clouding this collaboration between the two artists has ignited tremendous excitement among fans across all social platforms, with the hashtag 'V is Coming' trending.

The song, with its calming and heartfelt lyrics, is set to be released on December 30, 2023, at 10:30 AM (IST).

As the song is set to release on V's 28th birthday, it adds an extra layer of celebration for fans. An ARMY wrote “We have a new song to celebrate the birthday of Kim Taehyung this year! Thank you to V and Umi for this. It already sounds amazing."

Other comments went on to say “So we getting a birthday surprise”, "Can't wait for another masterpiece”, “V's vocals in 'wherever u r' are pure magic! Can't wait to experience this masterpiece on December 29th at 9PM PST / December 30th at 2PM KST. The anticipation is real!"

Fans had already gathered some hints when V had hinted at his upcoming song on his Instagram story. UMI also reposted the snippet and wrote, "bye tae, i am wishing you the best in the army :) i promise to take care of our song & share ur message while u are away."

BTS, before enlisting in the military, had promised their fans that they have a bunch of surprises lined up during their time away. Currently, all seven members of the band, are serving their mandatory military duties, and are expected to make a comeback in June 2025.

As for UMI, she is set to release her EP 'talking to the wind,' which will be out on January 19, 2024.
