“People expect things from us now,” Graham Hansen acknowledged Tuesday, calling their situation today a “complete difference.”

“We were like 18 and nobody expected nothing from us. We also just wanted to show what we could contribute at the time,” she said while sitting alongside Hegerberg.

“I wasn’t playing with much pressure at all (in 2013),” said Graham Hansen, who started in the final that Norway lost 1-0 to Germany. “I was just going for it.”

“I believe the Euros is very different,” Italy coach Andrea Soncin said Tuesday about those 13 months ago, adding the team lineups ”have changed a lot.” The winner of this tie will either meet Sweden or England in the semi-final.

"There's an incredible adrenaline, we can't wait," he said. "It's going to be a tough and challenging match against a difficult opponent, but we have the awareness, the strong motivation, and the desire to reach the final four. In a competition of this level, in a moment like this, there are no favourites – it will be a very balanced match. Norway, like all the other teams, are dreaming of reaching the semi-finals. We need a lot of focus and concentration, and then the girls must feel free to express their qualities – they have many, and that gives us confidence and awareness that we can go through."

"(Italy's) obvious strengths, for me, are the individuals they have," she said. "They have some very good individual players. From a defensive perspective, they're very well-organised, as you would expect from an Italian team, and have a strong back five. From an attacking perspective, they are very forward-thinking and like to get a lot of numbers in the box when they attack."

Italy get things underway in the 1st quarter-final of the ongoing UEFA Women's Euros 2025 tournament here in Geneva.

Arsenal women's Frida Maanum with the foul and referee Stéphanie Frappart makes no mistake in awarding a free-kick to the Azzure. Long free-kick but Norway clear the danger.

All eyes are on Ada Hegerberg as she leads the attack for Norway. The former Ballon d'Or winner started off well, by scoring against Switzerland in the opening match, but her poor showings in matches against Finland and Iceland put her place in danger.

Arianna Caruso with the best chance of the match so far as the Italian drives in the Norwegian box and but her shot is off target.

8' Norway 0-0 Italy

Ada Hegerberg is clean on through on goal but she is tracked by the Italian defender but Hegerberg fouls her opponent and Frappart deems it as a foul.

10' Norway 0-0 Italy

The Italians are showing more intent whenever they arrive in the NOR box and look most likely to open the scoring. A nice cross comes in from the left and Italians fluff their lines as Emma Severini and Cristiana Girelli clash together and chance goes begging.

21' Norway 0-0 Italy

Italy are carving Norway open like knife through butter and it's Emma Severini again who is allowed to attack and her shot is saved by the NOR keeper Cecilie Fiskerstrand. It should have been 1-0!

22' Norway 0-0 Italy

NOR are getting frustrated with the chances falling to ITA and that is showing as Lia Naalsund gets booked early.

Guro Reiten seems to have her hand in the air whilst defending and referee Frappart stops play for a potential penalty check. Check over and away we go!

All the best chances have fallen to Italy and Norway have yet to trouble the Italian defence. They are sitting deep and are waiting for one good ball over the top.

Ada Hegerberg has the best chance to open the scoring for Norway but the veteran forward fluffs her line and chance goes begging.

Arianna Caruso, who has had some golden chances, has a shot from long way out but the ball falls safely into the hands of the Norwegian keeper.

Signe Gaupset sees the Italian keeper off her line and tries to score the long range but her shot is a wayward one and it goes wide.

Finally Italy have their deserved goal and it is Cristiana Girelli who taps in to give her side the lead. Right winger Sofia Cantore runs through the Norway defence and her low shot falls at the feet of Girelli who scores her 60th international goal.

How have Norway survived that? Emma Severini turns it home under the body of the keeper but Frappart deems it offside. Check is done and offside stands. Norway are surviving by the thinnest of margins.

Talk about giving away the possession. Linari seems to have fouled Ada Hegerberg and Frappart makes no mistake to point it to the spot. Huge moment in the game!

Arsenal midfielder Frida Maanum is replaced by striker Elisabeth Terland for Norway.

Ada Hegerberg levels the scores as the former Ballon d'Or winner makes no mistake after missing the penalty five minutes earlier. Long ball over the top and Hegerberg is ready to pounce as she coolly guides it into the Italian net.

Out of nowhere, the goal has galvanized the Norwegian side. They are winning every duel and attacking the Italian box more.

Emma Severini is hauled off in midfield with Giada Greggi coming in place, while Michela Cambiaghi comes on for Barbara Bonansea.

Extra-time beckons for Italy and Norway unless either of one finds that elusive goal. 10 mins and stoppages remain.
