Chhattisgarh has just 11 seats, but it could turn out be a bit of a barnburner for the Congress. In the 2018 assembly polls, the state delivered the party’s biggest win. So how is the BJP responding to the humiliation? For one, it’s betting on new, low-key faces. No sitting MP is getting a recall. That has predictably caused consternation—reason for the Congress to rejoice. Bhujit Joshi, party research cell member, says new faces are no immunity against ­anti-incumbency. But BJP spokesperson Sachidanand Upasane says this election will be fought on the face of PM Narendra Modi.
