Spicejet: 2 Pilots Grounded For Having Gujiya, Beverages In Cockpit On Holi

As per the Spicejet officials, the pilots' activity inside the cockpit jeopardised flight safety. It has been reported that both pilots were taken off the roster and an inquiry into the matter was pending.

SpiceJet recently grounded two of its pilots on the grounds of consuming gujiya and beverages kept on a critical console inside the cockpit on the day of Holi.

According to a spokesperson of the airline, an inquiry into the matter is pending.

As per the Spicejet officials, the pilots jeopardised flight safety by doing this.

The incident was reported onboard a Delhi to Guwahati SpiceJet flight on the day of Holi (March 8).

As per media reports,  both pilots were taken off the roster and an inquiry into the matter is pending.

Commenting on the incident, a spokesperson for the SpiceJet airline said the company has a strict policy for the consumption of food inside the cockpit which is adhered to by all flight crew.

"Appropriate disciplinary action will be taken upon completion of the investigation," he added.
