Pune Airport: Police Books 72-Year-Old Woman For Bomb Hoax Causing Panic And Disruption

As per media reports, the accused who created the chaos at Pune airport has been identified as 72-year-old Nita Prakash Kripalani. Police registered a case against her under IPC sections 505 and 182.

In an untoward incident, police arrested a 72-year-old woman at Pune’s Lohegaon International Airport who allegedly threatened airport staffers saying bombs were attached to her body. 

As per media reports, the accused has been identified as 72-year-old Nita Prakash Kripalani, a resident of Surya Vihar Udyog Vihar, Gurgaon Industrial Complex.

All about the incident

On Friday, as Kriplani underwent the security screening ahead of boarding a domestic flight, she allegedly made a shocking claim to the vigilant CISF staff that bombs were attached to her body following which the security personnel initiated emergency protocols to take the situation under control.

As a precautionary measure, the airport’s security was beefed up and the passengers and staff in the vicinity were swiftly evacuated to a safe distance.

In a bid to ascertain the validity of her claims, the elderly woman was immediately detained by the CISF personnel and performed a thorough inspection to ascertain the validity of her claims. After the inspection, the authorities reached the conclusion that the woman’s claim was entirely false and it was nothing more than a misguided attempt to create chaos.

The woman was later handed over to the local police by the CISF personnel.Vimantal police have issued notice to her and registered a case against her under IPC sections 505 and 182.
