Instagram Suffers Global Outage As App Crashes And Glitches Frustrate Users

Popular mobile photo-sharing platform, Instagram, owned by Meta, experienced a widespread outage that left users unable to access the app's services. Reports of app crashing, sign-in issues, glitches, and disrupted online features flooded in from users worldwide. Frustrated by the sudden disruption, users took to social media, particularly Twitter, to voice their dissatisfaction.

As per the monitoring website Down Detector, the outage initially surfaced in India around 9 pm IST, with a significant surge in reported cases around 11 pm. Users in cities like Bengaluru, Delhi, Lucknow, Nagpur, Mumbai, and Hyderabad were among the most affected. However, the impact of the outage extended beyond India, with reports indicating similar issues across countries such as Australia, Brazil, Canada, the UK, and the US.

Instagram Comms, the official PR account for Instagram on Twitter, is yet to release an official statement addressing the outage at the time of writing. The disruption has sparked frustration among users, who rely on the platform for sharing photos and connecting with friends and followers.
