Dharmendra Compares His Kiss In ‘Rocky Aur Rani’ To Rajveer Deol’s Scenes In ‘Dono’: Mere Ek Kiss Ka Shor Hogaya

Veteran actor Dharmendra recently caught everyone’s attention due to his much-talked kissing scene with Shabana Azmi in Karan Johar's ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’. The kiss scene created quite a stir after their film, helmed by Karan Johar and starring Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh, released in theatres. 

Now, in one of the recent media interaction at a Durga Puja pandal, Dharmendra gave his perspective on the much-discussed kiss scene in ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’. The 87-year-old actor also compared the the attention his one kiss garnered to his grandson Rajveer Deol’s kissing scenes in his debut film Dono.

Talking about his role in the Karan Johar production, Dharmendra expressed, “Films are our medium to connect with the audience. I choose roles that resonate with my heart when they come my way. I don’t know how many kisses my grandson did in his film, mere ek kiss ka shor hogaeya (my one kiss created so much noise).” Dharmendra and Shabana Azmi were praised for boldly depicting the idea of senior love in the film.

Rajveer Deol, the grandson of Dharmendra and son of Sunny Deol, recently made his Bollywood debut alongside Poonam Dhillon’s daughter, Paloma, in the film ‘Dono’. The film tanked at the box office.

Meanwhile, during the interaction on his wife and veteran actor Hema Malini’s 75th birthday, the actor also expressed gratitude for the love they received, and said, “It’s a big thing for us that we got so much love and blessings from everyone. It was a happy occasion. I don’t celebrate my birthday. I sometimes wish I would not remember the date of my birthday.”

Hema Malini marked her 75th birthday on October 16 and celebrated the occasion with a a grand party, attended by several Bollywood celebrities. 

‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’ released in theatres on July 28.
