An Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) in its flood bulletin said Dhemaji, Lakhimpur and Dibrugarh districts have been affected by the rain that lashed the state since Monday.
Rains are likely to further improve the air quality index (AQI) which according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data was in the moderate category with index value measured at 134 at 8 am on Thursday.
Officials stated that all the schools in Pune city as well as in the neighboring Pimpri Chinchwad area will remain closed on Thursday due to a heavy rain forecast.
