A total of 8 nations will be competing to qualify for the Paris Olympics 2024 which are scheduled from July to August this year in Paris, France. All teams have been divided into two groups of four teams each. The top three teams will qualify for the global showpiece event.
The FIH Women's Hockey Olympic Qualifiers 2024 will be played in Ranchi, Jharkhand from January 13 to January 19. Germany and Chile will kickstart the campaign with Pool A match 1 on Saturday. India's first opponents are the USA.

Along with two finalists, the winner of the third-place match will also qualify for the Paris Olympics 2024 and the Indian women's team must have to be in the top two of Pool B to play the semifinal match.
Before the start of the campaign, Indian women's team's head coach Janneke Schopman said, “Playing in the Qualifier poses significant challenges and of course puts pressure on the players to perform. However, our team will prepare well and are aware of the stakes involved. The fact that the tournament is taking place in Ranchi, where we recently played and won the Women’s Asian Champions Trophy in front of an amazing home crowd, adds another dimension. The fans have helped the team and built a strong connection with them, the players will use their support to deliver and perform to our potential.”
