India Records 3,611 New Covid-19 Infections, With 36 Deaths

The government-wide vaccination campaign also marks a significant milestone with over 220.66 crore doses administered so far.

According to the most recent data from the Union Health Ministry, 3,611 new coronavirus infections have been recorded in India, and there are now 33,232 active cases as opposed to 36,244 previously. The total number of Covid-19 cases in the country now stands at 4.49 crore (4,49,64,289). According to figures updated at 8 am on Friday, the death toll rose to 5,31,642 after 36 fatalities were reported, including nine that Kerala reconciled.

The country's COVID-19 recovery rate has been reported at 98.74%, and the number of active cases as of right now accounts for 0.07% of all infections.  A total of 4,43,99,415 persons have recovered from the illness, and the case fatality rate is currently at 1.18%.

So far, the government-wide vaccination campaign in India has administered over 220.66 crore doses of Covid vaccines. With the increase in the pace of vaccinations and the decline in active cases, India is slowly coming out of the pandemic. However, authorities continue to emphasize the importance of continuing with Covid-appropriate behavior to avoid the spread.
