Down Comes The Wall

After a year-long legal battle, the Bhopal Municipal Corporation is going to demolish a boundary wall constructed around the ground floor flat owned by filmstar and MP Jaya Bachchan here. Last year, the corporation had issued a notice to Jaya who owns a flat in Ansal Apartments—a posh complex near the CM’s residence—saying the boundary wall was an encroachment. She had then moved a local court, which, in September last year, upheld the municipal corporation’s decision. Jaya wouldn’t let the matter rest, preferring to take the legal battle to the next level. But she lost again.
