And that's precisely what India wants. "We have generated a hundred CBMs since April 2003. Which other conflict process has seen so many," asks a senior official. "Now we have to focus on implementation." So, will the summit between Manmohan and Musharraf result in something meaningful? Senior officials insist "we should not be looking at one-day spectaculars in Indo-Pak processes". The weekend meeting will provide the opportunity for both countries to reflect over what has been achieved and decide on ways to take the peace process forward. There would be efforts to consolidate confidence-building measures on Kashmir. In particular, the two sides will discuss:
- Meeting points along the border for families in Kashmir;
- Military CBMs;
- Additional transportation routes;
- Additional trade and transit through the Attari-Wagah route.
