- Remove residual ambiguity on Sikkim's status.
- Respond positively to the Chinese proposal for a strategic partnership.
- Tell Beijing it wasn't prudent to postpone resolution of outstanding issues (eg, boundary and Sikkim).
- Provide a coherent roadmap for comprehensive economic cooperation.
- And seek China's position on the question of India's candidature to the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).
