Shannon Storms Beador, 59, the star of the well-known television series 'Real Housewives of O.C.,' was arrested on Sunday at Newport Beach in an alleged incident of Driving Under Influence (DUI) and hit-and-run.

As per the officials of the Newport Beach Police Department (NBPD), Beador was arrested around 1:17 a.m. on September 17, as she fled the scene after a collision that resulted in property damage.

Reports state that Beador left the car in the middle of the road after the collision and was found later walking her dog by the police. The NBPD announced that Beador was booked for driving under the influence of alcohol and hit-and-run. They also confirmed that she was released with a citation.

In a statement provided by Beador's lawyer, Michael L. Fell, he said that he spent quite some time with her and that she is 'extremely apologetic and remorseful.' He also added that they will be awaiting the full report about the case from the police, and Beador will take 'full responsibility for her actions.'

Jeff Lewis, Beador's friend, provided more information about her situation in his talk show, which aired on SiriusXM on Monday. He confirmed that Beador was involved in a DUI incident and that she was also in an accident and is now recovering.
Lewis went on to further state that he and Beador had been long-time friends, and she called him on Sunday, and he was shocked, claiming that he 'never known Shannon to ever, ever drink and drive.'

He also added that Beador will take full accountability for her actions, and she is 'embarrassed' and 'ashamed.' He further said that people, after knowing about this incident, would be talking about her, saying that she requires rehab and will be called an alcoholic. He then said that she is undergoing a lot of personal struggles, and due to the same, she is 'leaning on alcohol,' but also stated that he didn't think that Beador is an alcoholic.

Lewis also shared that Beador will be taking up counselling this week, a fact that he claims he is happy about. Additionally, he confirmed that nobody apart from Beador was hurt during the incident and that he wasn't justifying her actions, not condoning it either, but 'just sharing' what he knows.

According to reports earlier this year, Beador said that she was left 'blindsided' by her boyfriend, Jon Janssen, who ended their three-year relationship. After some months post-breakup, Beador reportedly got removed from a bar, where she got into a heated argument with Janssen's daughter.
