Global superstar and musician Shawn Mendes displayed his musical capabilities from age 13 when he started playing the guitar. But, his journey began after gaining massive popularity after his 2013 Vine cover of Justin Bieber’s “As Long As You Love Me” peaked online. He was only 15 at that time. 

Breakthrough: Handwritten 

As he posted more song covers, his following increased. In January 2014, he signed a record deal with Island Records and subsequently released his debut single “Life of the Party” in June 2014. From there onwards, it has only been a ladder towards the top for the musician. Soon afterwards in April 2015, he released his debut album “Handwritten”. The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart and was nominated for the Album of the Year award at Juno Awards. The album won him the Favorite Breakout Artist award at the 42nd People's Choice Awards.

First World Tour: Shawn Mendes World Tour 2016

The success of Mendes’s debut album opened the doors for world tours. In 2016, he set on for his first world tour; Shawn Mendes World Tour. Hit singles like Stitches, Never Be Alone, and Life of the Party struck a chord with the audience, especially the young female audience. The same year, he released his second album Illuminate which led the path to his second world tour. Post the success of his second studio album, the singer also released his first live album titled Live at Madison Square Garden in December 2016 to much praise from his loyal fans.

Illuminate World Tour, 2017

With more hit songs like Mercy, Treat You Better, and There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back from his second studio album, Mendes had made it clear he is here to stay. By now, he had several sold-out shows under his name. His tunes were making waves in the music industry as well as making their way into people’s hearts.


His self-titled third studio album Shawn Mendes boasts hits such as In My Blood, Youth, and Lost In Japan. The music video for the latter is based on the widely loved movie Lost in Translation. His subsequent fourth studio album Wonder is a testimony to his growing talent. With the singer's most recent world tour, Wonder: The World Tour, it's safe to say that this global superstar has more world tours and live performances to sell.
