Coronavirus: UK Registers Record 786 deaths In 24 Hours; 100 New Cases Detected In Mumbai

The number of Coronavirus positive cases in India has shown a rapid surge for the last few days, taking the tally over 4,400. At least 1,445 among them have been found linked to the Tablighi Jamaat congregation in Delhi.

The situation is, however, showing an improvement in China where no new domestically transmitted cases were reported in last 24 hours. The situation is also showing signs of improvement in Italy, Iran and the US.

9:30 PM: Ten more COVID-19 cases reported in Gujarat; count climbs to 175, says official.

9:00 PM: UK registers daily record of 786 coronavirus deaths, reports AFP. 

7:52 PM: The total number of COVID-19 cases in Tamil Nadu has surged to 690 after 69 new cases were reported on Tuesday. Beela Rajesh, Tamil Nadu Health Secretary said 63 out of 69 people who tested positive today attended a single event.

7:30 PM: At least 100 new COVID-19 cases detected in Mumbai; tally 590.

6:44PM: Nine people tested positive for coronavirus in Kerala today, taking the total number of active cases to 263.

6:36PM: A 64-year old woman died of COVID-19 in Tamil Nadu on Tuesday taking the toll due to the disease to seven in the state while 69 more people tested positive as the tally rose to 690.
