Coronavirus Highlights: India Sees Record Single-Day Rise With 1463 Fresh Cases; Tally Jumps To 10,815

The total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in India crossed the 10,000-mark on Tuesday with 10,815 infections across the country.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation at 10 am today, the last day of the 21-day nationwide lockdown imposed due to the coronavirus. He extended the lockdown till May 3.

Meanwhile, the United States recorded 1,509 deaths related to the coronavirus pandemic over the past 24 hours, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University.
