India’s hotel landscape just got a little bigger on the MICHELIN map. The 2026 MICHELIN Key selection has added 12 new Indian properties, taking the country’s total to 47. The list stretches across very different kinds of stays, from a wildlife resort in Bandhavgarh and a rammed-earth retreat in Ladakh to city hotels in Mumbai and a restored palace in Patiala. It is a mix that shows how much the idea of a memorable stay in India has expanded beyond grand heritage hotels.
The MICHELIN Key, unlike the MICHELIN Star, is awarded for the hotel experience itself, looking at elements such as design, service, character and value for money. Of the 12 new additions, one has received Two Keys while the remaining 11 have received One Key. Here are the new Indian hotels that have joined the MICHELIN Key selection this year.
