SunRisers Hyderabad set Kolkata Knight Riders a 227-run target in IPL 2026 match 6
Cameron Green run-out after big mix-up with Angkrish Raghuvanshi
Raghuvanshi then run-out after misunderstanding with Rinku Singh
While Cameron Green's bowling availability (the lack of it) was hogging the limelight in the build-up to Kolkata Knight Riders' (KKR) face-off with SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH), it was his bizarre run-out that took the cake during match 6 of Indian Premier League 2026 at the Eden Gardens on Thursday (April 2).
It all unfolded in the sixth over of KKR's pursuit of a 227-run target. The fifth ball of Eshan Malinga's over had seen the bowler collide with Angkrish Raghuvanshi, who was charging down from the non-striker's end for a single. There was a big mix-up and Raghuvanshi dived to make his ground while Malinga threw the ball to wicketkeeper and captain Ishan Kishan.

The next ball had Raghuvanshi on strike and he drove it back to the bowler. The ball took a deflection off Malinga's foot and trickled back towards the stumps. The 21-year-old did not realise where the ball was and set off for a single before hesitating midway. But Green had already committed to the run and kept going towards the striker’s end without turning back.
Malinga picked up the ball and broke the stumps. The youngster began walking back towards the dugout, but the umpires stopped him to review whether he should be out or Green. Replays suggested that the batters had crossed by the time Malinga dislodged the bails, and it was Green who ended up being run-out.
It was not the only run-out resulting from a mix-up in the innings, as Raghuvanshi himself succumbed soon after, following a misunderstanding with Rinku Singh. You can watch the video of both run-outs below.
Earlier, Blessing Muzarabani starred with a four-wicket haul for KKR but a fighting half-century from Heinrich Klaasen powered SRH to a competitive 226 for eight. Travis Head returned to form with a blistering 46 off 21 balls, while Abhishek Sharma hammered 48 off 21 as the duo put on a scintillating 82-run opening stand in just 34 deliveries.
