IMD Issues Orange Alert For Odisha, Uttarakhand, Parts Of Madhya Pradesh And Other States; Details Inside

The India Meteorological Department has alerted for localized flooding that may occur in certain areas due to heavy to very heavy rainfall Odisha, Uttarakhand, parts of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh along with Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

The India Meteorological Department has issued orange alerts for states like Odisha, Uttarakhand, parts of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh along with Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in these places from September 10 onwards.

The IMD has also alerted for localized flooding as a potential impact of the rainfall. They have also advised the people in these areas to remain indoors and avoid places that are prone to flooding. Vulnerable structures should be avoided said the weather agency.

Odisha

The IMD has posted on X, formerly known as Twitter that Odisha may receive heavy to very heavy rainfall on September 14. According to them 115.6mm to 204.4mm might be the range of rainfall received in the state.

Uttarakhand

For Uttarakhand, the IMD has said that the orange alert is in effect for September 10. The state is expected to receive 115.6 to 204.4 mm of rainfall on Sunday.

West Madhya Pradesh

The western part of Madhya Pradesh is also expected to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall on September 10, according to IMD. 

West Uttar Pradesh

The western parts of Uttar Pradesh is also likely to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall on September 10. The IMD said that the range of rainfall in the state may be between 115.6mm to 204.4mm.

Andaman and Nicobar islands

The islands are expected to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall on Sunday that may range between 115.6mm to 204.4mm, said IMD.

Delhi

Delhiites woke up to a pleasant morning on Sunday following overnight rains in parts of the national capital with the minimum temperature settling at 23.5 degrees Celsius, two notches below the season's average, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The IMD said Delhi recorded 39 mm of rainfall till 8:30 am. The relative humidity was 100 per cent at 8:30 am. There have not been any alerts for heavy rainfall in Delhi as of yet. 

The city, which is hosting heads of state from around the world for the G20 Summit, is likely to witness generally cloudy skies with moderate rainfall during the day. The maximum temperature is expected to settle at 30 degrees Celsius, the weather department said.

Several parts of Delhi had also received rain on Saturday, bringing relief from the heat. The minimum temperature settled at 23.2 degrees Celsius and the maximum at 32 degrees Celsius, both two notches below normal.
