Defending a total of 192/2, India restricted the Associate team to 152/5 for a convincing win. The winners of Pakistan vs Hong Kong in the final Group A match on Friday will join India in Super Fours.
Earlier, an unbeaten 98-run stand for the third wicket in 42 balls between Virat Kohli (59 off 44) and Suryakumar Yadav (68 off 26) helped India post an intimidating total. Hong Kong captain Nizakat Khan won the toss and put India into bat. KL Rahul (36 off 39) and Rohit Sharma (21 off 13) put 38 runs for the first wicket in 4.5 overs, then the skipper left in the 13th over. The India innings witnessed 12 sixes and nine fours, with SKY hitting half of the maximum. For Hong Kong, Ayush Shukla and Mohammad Ghazanfar got one wicket each.
