Matthew Perry known for his character Chandler Bing of 'Friends' passed away. He was one of the popular characters in the television series. He was 54. As per reports, he was found dead in a hot tub at his Los Angeles residence on Saturday.
Los Angeles Police Department’s robbery-homicide detectives are probing his death, according to the report.
As per a report in TMZ, Matthew Perry had returned to his residence after a two-hour round of pickleball game and sent his assistant on an errand. When his assistant came back after around two hours he found the actor unresponsive in the Jacuzzi. He dialled 911 for emergency assistance.
As per reports, no drugs were discovered at the death scene. Also, there is no indication of any foul play.
LAPD Officer Drake Madison told the Associated Press that officers had gone to that block "for a death investigation of a male in his 50s.”
Perry became a household name with 'Friends' for his endearing character. He also starred in other films like 'Fools Rush In,' '17 Again,' 'Getting In,' 'The Whole Nine Yards,' 'Three to Tango,' and 'The Kid' among others.
He was not seen on screen post his TV mini-series in 2017.
The actor's personal life was not rosy. He was addicted to drugs, alcohol and painkillers and had been in and out of rehab.
Matthew even opened up about this painful chapter of his life in a memoir. In many interviews, he also spoke about his weight loss and gain struggles, his health and many more and also turned emotional several times.
For the unversed, he faced health issues and once it was so serious that he had to undergo emergency surgery but he recovered.
