The choice of solo travel for women has become an empowering and liberating option. Today, more and more women are taking up the challenge of travelling alone, having dealt with and overcome the hesitations and fears that come with this adventure. According to a survey of female solo travellers, 46 per cent reported that the feeling of freedom and independence drives their decision to travel alone. Another 22 per cent believe that they do not want to wait around for other people, while 15 per cent hold that solo travel is a way to challenge themselves and gain confidence.
