Marco Odermatt, the Olympic and world champion, completed a giant slalom double during the two-day Alta Badia stop of the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup 2023-24 season. The 26-year-old Swiss skier from Nidwalden won the Gran Risa giant slalom for the second time in two days on Monday and extended his winning streak in the discipline to six races. After the end of the seventh round of 41, Odermatt leads Marco Schwarz (Austria) in the overall rankings by 92 points (456-364). Italy will also host the next two stops, at Madonna di Campiglio and Bormio. Gran Risa on Piz La Ila mountain in the Dolomites is considered one of the top three Giant Slalom courses in the world.
