Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) star Virat Kohli has seen a remarkable resurgence in form in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, hitting back-to-back half-centuries in Matches 37 and 42 for the first time this season. (Live Score | More Cricket News)
The first of the fifties came in RCB’s match against Punjab Kings at the Mullanpur Stadium, where the away side had to chase down a target of 157. He scored an unbeaten 73 off 54 balls, securing a comfortable win with seven balls to spare.
The former RCB skipper followed it up with another stellar performance on 24 April, playing a commanding 70-run knock off 42 deliveries against Rajasthan Royals at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
In the process, Kohli completed 3500 runs at RCB’s home stadium, becoming the first batter to cross this mark at any one particular venue.
After an opening-day half-century from Kohli against the Kolkata Knight Riders (59 off 36), the batter has struggled with lukewarm form, scoring 67 off 43 against Mumbai Indians on 7 April, but failing to cross the 50-mark in other games.
However, with his consistent performances in successive games, fans can be reassured that there’s still a lot of cricket to give from the veteran batter.
Meanwhile, another Indian legend had two successive stunners in IPL 2025, with Mumbai Indians’ Rohit Sharma finding his rhythm after a poor start to the campaign that saw him dropped from the team.
After a series of modest scores, he delivered an unbeaten 76 off 45 balls against Chennai Super Kings on 20 April, guiding MI to a nine-wicket win at the Wankhede Stadium. Rohit followed it up with another 70-run knock off 46 balls against SunRisers Hyderabad, guiding the visitors to another 7-wicket win.
