Was Pokhran II a bang or a bust? Ex-DRDO scientist Santhanam contended the N-test wasn’t up to scratch, that India must conduct another. The close-knit nuclear establishment came out fighting, but the verdict is still out on this one.

"Once again, I would like to re-emphasise that the 1998 nuclear tests were fully successful. We achieved all objectives in toto," said Anil Kakodkar. He was the Director of Bhabha Atomic Research Centre in 1998 and his comment comes in the wake of back and forth claims that Pokhran II was unsuccessful.
