Actor Jonathan Majors has been found guilty of assault and harassment of his former girlfriend by a New York jury on Monday. Following a trial in which he expected to be found not guilty and to regain his reputation as a rising Hollywood star, Jonathan Majors was found guilty of assaulting his ex-girlfriend.
Marvel Studios and the Walt Disney Co. dropped him hours after the verdict.
Majors, a rising star known for his roles in Disney’s Marvel franchise and "Creed III," faced charges and was convicted of one count of reckless assault in the 3rd degree. He also received a non-criminal charge of harassment as a violation. However, he was acquitted on another assault charge and one count of aggravated harassment.

Present in court as the verdict was delivered, Majors maintained a composed demeanor. He left the courthouse without providing comments to the media.
In response to the verdict, Priya Chaudhry, Majors' attorney conveyed that Majors "still has faith in the process and looks forward to fully clearing his name."
Following the news of the verdict, a source with knowledge of the matter informed that Marvel Studios has decided not to proceed with any future projects involving Majors. Majors, who was slated to play the villainous Kang in the upcoming "Avengers: The Kang Dynasty," will no longer be part of Marvel Studios' future endeavors.

Majors is one of Hollywood's fastest-growing stars, with credits that included "The Last Black Man in San Francisco," "Devotion," and "Da 5 Bloods." The recent graduate of Yale School of Drama also appeared in "Magazine Dreams," an acclaimed film that debuted at the Sundance Film Festival in January and is scheduled to hit theaters this month. In that film, he played a troubled amateur bodybuilder. "Magazine Dreams" was taken off the release schedule by Disney-owned distributor Searchlight Pictures prior to Majors' trial.
