In an era where professionals pursue a linear career path, Bhartendu Shandilya’s shift from a senior government official to a corporate advisor reflects an unique combination of public administration experience and private sector insight.

Shandilya spent over two decades in the Indian government, played key roles across multiple departments. Among his significant assignments was his tenure as Resident Commissioner of Chandigarh, a position that involved inter-governmental coordination and public service delivery. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he played a key role in facilitating communication between departments and managing emergency services, helping ensure more efficient resource access during national crisis.

After voluntarily stepping down from government service, Shandilya joined RP Sanjiv Goenka Group as an Advisor – Corporate Affairs. In this capacity, he offers guidance on regulatory affairs, government engagement, and policy navigation. His experience in governance, legislation, and crisis management has contributed to aligning the group’s strategic goals with the regulatory environment.

In parallel with his professional journey, Shandilya has authored a book titled Beyond Policy, which examines principles of leadership and administrative thinking. The book has been added to the Parliament Library. He has also earned executive certifications from institutions including Harvard University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and the Indian School of Business (ISB) Hyderabad.

Shandilya is involved in mentoring and advising early-stage startups, particularly in the fintech sector. His involvement includes offering strategic input and, in some cases, investing in emerging ventures. Outside of his professional interests, he is involved in music, plays cricket and tennis, and engages in farming activities on his personal landholdings.
