Director Sekhar Kammula’s latest movie Kuberaa, starring Dhanush, Nagarjuna and Rashmika Mandanna, has solidified its position at the box office. The film opened to positive reviews from critics and audiences alike and a strong word of mouth, has helped the film mint moolah at the ticket windows.

After a decent start of Rs 14.75 crore, Kuberaa witnessed an increase in collections on Day 2, by earning Rs 16.5 crore, followed by Rs 17.25 crore on Day 3, its first Sunday. The total box office collection of Dhanush-starrer now stands Rs 48.50 crore, as per Sacnilk. It will easily cross the Rs 50 crore mark today.

The social drama had an overall 70.56% Telugu occupancy on Sunday, June 22, 2025, with maximum occupancy of 80.19% and 80.06% during the evening and afternoon shows. Morning shows recorded minimum occupancy of 51.33%, and night shows had a footfall of 70.64%.

Kuberaa has been performing better in the Telugu language than the Tamil and Hindi versions. In Hindi belt, it is facing a tough competition from Aamir Khan's Sitaare Zameen Par, which released on the same day.

Kuberaa's three-day collections have officially beaten the lifetime collection of Vikram’s Veera Dheera Sooran, which had collected Rs 40.75 crore net in in its lifetime haul in India. It is yet to beat the box office collections of Daaku Maharaaj, HIT 3 and Good Bad Ugly.

On Sunday, June 22, the team of Kuberaa hosted a grand event in Hyderabad, to celebrate the film's box office success. It was attended by Sekhar Kammula, Dhanush, Nagarjuna, and Rashmika Mandanna. Megastar Chiranjeevi was the special guest, who was all praise for the cast and crew. In one of the videos, Dhanush was seen touching Chiranjeevi's feet.

In his speech, Chiranjeevi said, "Sekhar Kammula’s movies always depicted reality. Even though he has made only ten movies in these 25 years, all his movies have struck a chord with audiences. I feel proud of Sekhar Kammula’s journey in cinema. I couldn’t recognise Dhanush in his beggar’s role in a particular scene."

Dhanush, thanking Kammula in his speech, said, "Without big sets, superheroes, or heavy CG, thank you Sekhar Kammula sir for proving that pure drama still works in today's times with Kuberaa."
