Greetings and welcome everyone to the fourth morning of the second India vs West Indies encounter in Delhi. Propelled by John Campbell and Shai Hope, the visitors have exhibited some much-needed fight to stretch the Indians, and it would be interesting to see how long they can sustain this resilience. The first ball of the fourth day will be bowled at 9:30am. The second India vs West Indies Test is being live streamed on the JioHotstar app and website in India. It is being telecast on the Star Sports Network TV channels in the country.

West Indies seamer Jayden Seales was fined 25 per cent of his match fee and handed a demerit point by the ICC yesterday for breaching its Level 1 Code of Conduct. During the 29th over of India's first innings, Seales had fielded the ball on his follow-through and threw it at batter Yashasvi Jaiswal, hitting him on the pads. Seales contested the sanction proposed by match referee Andy Pycroft, so a formal hearing was required.

Like the previous three days, the Delhi weather is expected to be sunny today. The probability of precipitation is zero percent and the maximum and minimum temperatures are predicted to be 32 and 19 degrees Celsius, respectively. So expect a rain-free day with hazy sunshine.

John Campbell saved his best for last with a counter-punching unbeaten 87 as the West Indies batters showed rare resilience to live and fight another day after being asked to follow on by India. Riding on a 138 run unbroken stand between Campbell and Shai Hope (66 batting), West Indies reached 173 for two at stumps. These are the only half-centuries that the visitors have managed in this short series, so far.

Indian spinners could have a tough day in office with the pitch getting slower, thereby making batting much easier, according to assistant coach Ryan Ten Doeschate. "We thought the wicket was going to keep deteriorating and by close of play it would be at its worst. It just seems to have slowed down even more. It's quite challenging to get any pace up," Ten Doeschate said after the end of third day's play.

While India are looking to wrap up the match and series today, West Indies are hopeful of some more defiance. The Feroz Shah Kotla track has remained mostly batting-friendly for the first three days, and Windies off-spinner Khary Pierre is hopeful it takes time to deteriorate, giving his batters enough opportunity to take the game into day five.

Asked when does he expect the track to deteriorate further, the left-arm spinner replied: "I think the wicket is still a good one, with the odd balls spinning a little bit. All in all, I think the wicket is going to deteriorate more going on into the Test match, so, it's all about batting as low as possible to try and get that wear and tear, you know, to get even worse." Vice captain Ravindra Jadeja gets the day underway for India, with his left-arm spin. Close-in fielders encouraging him and the rest of the team, reminding all that it takes just "one ball" to break the stand and regain momentum. John Campbell and Shai Hope negotiate the Jadeja over carefully, getting four runs off it.

Jasprit Bumrah bowling in tandem with Jadeja, and the pace spearhead starts off with a maiden over. Meanwhile, John Campbell is inching closer to his first Test hundred and Shai Hope is holding fort. India won't be alarmed yet, though if this partnership continues for an hour or so, things could certainly get interesting.

John Campbell survives a really close call, as Jasprit Bumrah gets one to slant in to the left-hander and raps him on the pads. There is a definite edge there, but was it pad first? The Indians go for a referral but the third umpire reckons it's bat first, and India are left wondering. Bumrah follows it up with an outstanding delivery, that narrowly misses the bails. The maestro is at it again.

West Indies go through to the first drinks break unscathed. They have not only weathered the Bumrah storm, but also found some runs against the rest of the bowling in the first hour. In the process, John Campbell has gone past the 100-run mark, getting to his maiden Test hundred with a towering six off Jadeja.

India finally get the breakthrough! Jadeja first draws an outside edge from Campbell that does not go to hand, and then traps the southpaw bang in front. The spinner does a 'celebrappeal' of sorts, not looking back at the umpire, but Campbell goes for the DRS anyway. Three reds, and the centurion has to go. Captain Roston Chase joins Shai Hope in the middle.

Roston Chase is taking the attack to India. The West Indies skipper has already hit a four and six in his short stay, even as Shai Hope continues to go from strength to strength. The deficit is now into the 30s, and it is looking increasingly certain that India will have to bat again to chase down whatever the visitors get.

The Windies resistance continues. India have bowled for more than 156 overs at a stretch, having enforced the follow on after dismissing the tourists for 248 in 81.5 overs. West Indies trail by just 23 runs now.

India were eager to prise out one more wicket before the end of the first session, but are unable to do so. Roston Chase and Shai Hope negotiate Kuldeep Yadav and Washington Sundar's overs well and take West Indies to lunch at a healthy 252/3, whittling down the deficit to just 18 runs. This was Windies' session, and they will try to continue the good work after the break as well.

With his gutsy 115-run knock, John Campbell became the first West Indies opener since Daren Ganga in 2006 to score a Test century against India, and the first to reach the milestone on Indian soil since Wavell Hinds in Kolkata, 2002. Campbell’s performance is now etched in West Indies history, joining a select club of 14 Caribbean openers to register a Test century against India.

The players are back on the field for the post-lunch session. Kuldeep Yadav starts off proceedings for India. Shai Hope is nearing his hundred and Roston Chase is batting quite fluently. Do India have a fresh plan to combat the duo?

India take the new ball right away, at the 80-over mark. Bumrah returns for a second spell, and Mohammed Siraj arrives for his first. Meanwhile, Shai Hope racks up his third Test match hundred. His resilient knock has kept West Indies in the match, especially after John Campbell's dismissal.

Siraj makes the new ball count for India, and how! The fiery India pacer cleans up centurion Shai Hope for 103, and that brings Tevin Imlach to the crease with West Indies now in the lead. It is still a sluggish pitch, so if the tourists apply themselves, they could really drag out this innings, and perhaps even take the match to a fifth day.

The West Indies are dealing in boundaries here and Tevin Imlach, the new batter in has also freed up his hands getting a six and a four of Kuldeep Yadav's over.

India will want to create further openings and not let the Windies lead get too far ahead.

Kuldeep Yadav turns the game on its head with a double strike in an over. First he removed Imlach, who had been attacking him with intent, and now he’s sent back Roston Chase and Pierre in quick succession. Chase fell to one that kept low, pinned while trying to flick off the back foot, and Pierre top-edged a slog sweep straight to cover. From a position of strength, West Indies have been humbled, and India are right back in the contest.

Bumrah joins the party as India tighten their grip. He castles Jomel Warrican with a classic full delivery that angles in and sneaks through the gate, taking the inside edge before crashing into leg stump. The West Indies innings, once resilient, is now crumbling fast. India sense a quick finish to keep the target within reach.

Bumrah strikes again and India are just one wicket away from wrapping this up. A beauty from the pacer gets Phillip caught behind, the ball angling in on a fuller length and skidding low to find the faint edge. Bumrah’s grin says it all as India edge closer to a series clean sweep. West Indies lead by 50, but the end looks near.

Runs are flowing for West Indies despite being nine down as Seales and Greaves continue to frustrate India. The pair have added some valuable lower-order runs, showing grit and intent to extend the lead past 70. India remain patient, searching for that final breakthrough to end the resistance and claim their chance to seal the series.

West Indies have shown remarkable resistance heading into the Tea break on Day 4, stretching their lead to 91 runs. Seales and Greaves have held firm, frustrating the Indian bowlers with a determined lower-order stand that has crossed over 50 runs. Despite India’s relentless efforts, the final wicket continues to elude them as the visitors fight hard to stay alive in the contest.

The final session of the day, and perhaps the series, gets underway in Delhi. Kuldeep Yadav sends down the first over, and Jayden Seales plays out a maiden. Him and Justin Greaves would look to extend this resistance for as long as possible, while the Indians are just looking to wrap this up in a jiffy and knock off the runs.

West Indies’ last-wicket pair continues to frustrate India as the lead crosses 100. Kuldeep Yadav nearly had Seales with a sharp seam-up delivery at 108.7kph that found the outside edge, but Jurel couldn’t cling on to a tough chance. The partnership between Seales and Greaves is proving crucial, stretching India’s patience and adding valuable runs for the visitors.

Finally a breakthrough for India as Bumrah ends the West Indies’ brave resistance. Seales flicks one uppishly straight to Washington Sundar at deep square leg, departing after a gritty stand. The Windies' finish on 390, setting India a 121-run target.

India began the chase with clear intent as Jaiswal struck two crisp boundaries in the opening over. However, his aggressive approach backfired soon after, as Warrican lured him into a mistimed lofted shot down to long-on. Phillip made no mistake with the catch, giving West Indies an early breakthrough.

After a sedate start, Sai Sudharsan gets going with a whippy cover drive off Jomel Warrican. India are not batting as aggressively now as Jaiswal was at the start, perhaps recalibrating after looking at how the pitch is playing. Less than 40 minutes to go until an extra half hour can be requested, light permitting.

India look steady in their chase but the West Indies bowlers are not giving in easily. The visitors are bowling with discipline and energy, trying to delay India’s charge towards a series-clinching win. With the surface slowing down and the ball keeping low at times, it increasingly feels like the result could stretch into the final day.

Spin is gripping sharply now on this Day 4 surface, making strokeplay tricky for the Indian batters. The umpires are keeping a close watch on the light, which is fading fast, and a decision on whether to extend play looms. With the ball turning square and visibility dropping, it looks unlikely that play will continue much longer today.

Day 4 ends with the promise of an exciting finish on the final day. West Indies fought hard through centuries from Campbell and Hope to level the contest before a resilient last-wicket stand added 79 crucial runs. Kuldeep and Siraj chipped in with key breakthroughs to keep India in control. Chasing 121, India reached 63-1 at stumps, needing just 58 more runs on Day 5 to complete a series sweep.

John Campbell: Can't put feeling of getting a ton in words, maybe tomorrow I'll be able to describe it. We always spoke about the pitch being good to bat on. Just focused on getting a start, knew things would get easier. Had to be more selective with the shots. (Six to get to 100) Before the ball, I saw him pull mid-on closer, I took it on. Can't put into words the first-innings dismissal. Couldn't have done anything else. Glad to have contributed in the second innings.
