GT Vs SRH, IPL 2026: Gujarat Titans’ Pace Battery Destroys Sunrisers Hyderabad In Crushing 82-Run Win

Gujarat Titans produced a complete all-round performance to thrash Sunrisers Hyderabad by 82 runs at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Tuesday. Defending 168/5, GT bowled SRH out for just 86 in 14.5 overs to register their fifth consecutive victory of IPL 2026. The massive win also helped Shubman Gill’s side climb to the top of the points table with 16 points from 12 matches.

Batting first after Pat Cummins won the toss and opted to field, Gujarat Titans recovered strongly from an early wobble. Captain Shubman Gill departed cheaply for 5, while Jos Buttler managed only 7 as SRH pacer Praful Hinge struck twice in the powerplay.

Sai Sudharsan then steadied the innings brilliantly with a composed 61 off 46 balls, crossing the 500-run mark for the season in the process. Washington Sundar played a crucial supporting knock with a quick-fire half-century, while Rahul Tewatia finished strongly to push GT to 168/5 in 20 overs. Sakib Hussain and Praful Hinge picked up two wickets each for Hyderabad.

The chase turned into a nightmare for Sunrisers Hyderabad almost immediately. Mohammed Siraj struck in the very first over to dismiss Travis Head for a duck, and Kagiso Rabada then ripped through the top order with fiery pace bowling.

Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan, and Smaran Ravichandran all fell inside the powerplay as SRH slumped to 34/4 after six overs, their first four-wicket powerplay collapse of IPL 2026. Heinrich Klaasen attempted to rebuild but managed only 14 before Jason Holder removed him to shut the door completely on Hyderabad’s hopes.

GT’s bowlers maintained relentless pressure throughout the innings. Rabada finished with key breakthroughs, while Jason Holder’s 3/20 and disciplined spells from Prasidh Krishna and Rashid Khan ensured SRH never recovered.

Pat Cummins entertained briefly with a 19-run cameo, but Hyderabad folded for just 86, one of the lowest totals of the season. The result also extended GT’s dominant head-to-head record over SRH to 6-1 in IPL history. With momentum, net run rate, and form all in their favour, Gujarat Titans now look among the strongest contenders for a top-two finish in IPL 2026.
