SRH put up a record breaking 125 runs during the batting PP in the last game at this venue, but that was on pitch number 4, we've moved across to pitch number 5 for today's game. 63m and 62m square boundaries while the straight boundary is at 72m. The pitch in the last game was completely different to what's been the case here. The grass seems to be patchy, there has been dry grass and it has been rolled, but there are some bare areas as well. It could be two paced with the spinners getting a bit of help in the first innings, but this pitch looks very good, very well rolled and should play nicely - Deep Dasgupta and Nathalie Germanos reckon on-air.

Gujarat Titans have won the toss and elected to bowl at the Arun Jaitley Stadium against Delhi Capitals.

"We will bowl first. Looks like a good wicket, we've been chasing well in the last couple of games. Means a lot to me (on playing 100 IPL matches), have come a long way, still a long way to go, but the focus is on today's match. It's cricket, there'll always be ups and downs, you want to play the way you're good at. We're playing the same side."

"It's a good toss to lose, we would have batted first anyway. We just spoke at keeping things simple, just doing what we can do for a longer period of time. This wicket looks a bit slower than the last game, dew plays a big factor here, there was no dew last time, hopefully it'll not be there tonight as well. Two changes - David Warner sits out and Hope replaces him, Sumit Kumar replaces Lalit Yadav."

Jake Fraser-McGurk, Prithvi Shaw are at the crease for DC and will look to give their side a fast start against GT.

DC lost the toss and were in the hope that their opening batters, Prithvi Shaw and Jake Fraser-McGurk give them a blistering start but alas. Fraser-McGurk was sent back by Warrier whereas Shaw was also sent back, via controversially, inside the fifth over.

DC batters Axar Patel and Rishabh Pant have put on a fighting partnership after early setback. GT's Sandeep Warrier took three wickets to put the home team in trouble but Axar and Pant have been prolific up until now and looking to add momentum for DC.

Rishabh Pant and Axar Patel have put on fighting stand for DC as they look to end on a high against GT at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

31 runs off the last-over sees DC post a mammoth 224 on the board against GT. Rishabh Pant's unbeaten 88 and some hard-hitting from Axar Patel (66) and Tristan Stubbs (26 not out) proved too much for the GT bowlers with Mohit Sharma leaking 73 runs in his four overs.

Skipper Shubman Gill was dismissed early on by Anrich Nortje for six runs but Sai Sudharsan and Wriddhiman Saha have put on a formidable partnership to counter-attack the DC bowling.

Wriddhiman Saha was dismissed for a well-made 39 runs as DC fought back against GT in match 40 of the IPL 2024. It seemed that Saha and Sai Sudharsan will run away with the match with some quality hitting but Kuldeep Yadav dismissed Saha and brought parity in the DC vs GT contest.

Sai Sudharsan was the wrecker in-chief for GT but post his dismissal, the Titans have looked brittle and need a big inning from their star player, David Miller.

Despite Rashid Khan's late heroics, it wasn't to be for Gujarat Titans as they lost by four runs to Delhi Capitals as the latter did the double over last year's runners-up.

DC 224/4 (20)

GT 220/8 (20)

"I think we played some really good cricket, disappointing to lose in the end, but great character shown by everyone. Great fight till the end and we never thought we were out of the game at any point. When you're chasing 224, there's no point in talking about plans, just go out and score runs. I think impact player has a bit of a role (in making the matches high scoring), even if you lose extra wickets, extra cushion is there for the batters to keep going and it gives the license for the batters to keep going till the end. At one stage, we thought we would be able to restrict them to 200-210, but we gave away some extra runs in the last 2-3 overs. But this is a smallish ground, we spoke about the same when we went out to chase. Execution becomes very important, if there's a set batter or a finisher, you'll have to execute well. It's okay if there's something in the wicket, but on pitches like this, you'll have to make sure that you execute all your plans perfectly, be it the yorkers or the variations."

(On choosing Rasikh for 19th over) Nortje was having a tough time. T20 is a funny game, after 14-15 overs the ball was coming on nicely. So we wanted to trust Rasikh, always trust someone who is bowling well in a game. I think it is about instincts as a captain, it will come off sometimes. Happy it worked today. Surely at 43/3, we wanted to just keep going and target their main spinners. If we get something, we will take it on and keep rotating the strike. Everyday that I'm in the middle, I feel better. Every hour on the field matters, I love being on the field. I try to give it my 100% and it takes some time sometimes. I think the first six in the match gives me the confidence in a game. The more time I spend in the centre, the better I feel.

It's SRH vs RCB tomorrow, till then we sign off!
