Rani Rampal, Indian women's hockey team captain, won the Sportsperson of the Year Award 2019 (Female) at the FICCI India Sports Awards 2019. The awards ceremony was held at the FICCI Federation House, in New Delhi, on December 11.
Also, Asian Games gold medalist shooter Saurabh Chaudhary won the Sportsperson of the Year Award 2019 (Male).
Honorable Minister of Sports, Government of Odisha Shri Tusharkanti Behera and Secretary-cum-Commissioner, Department of Sports & Youth Services, Government of Odisha Shri Vishal Kumar Dev presented the awards to the winners. Also, the FICCI Indian Sports Awards 2019 was decided by a jury led by Mukul Mudgal, Retired Indian Judge, Delhi High Court, and Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court.
