India will feature as one of the two invited teams at the Central Asian Football Association (CAFA) Nations Cup 2025 which is scheduled to be held from August 31 to September 8. The tournament will play a big part in the Blue Tigers' preparation for the AFC Asian Cup 2027 Qualifiers Final Round.
India have been placed in Group B alongside the defending champions Iran, hosts Tajikistan and Afghanistan. Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan and Oman are the teams in Group A.
The winners of the two Groups will go up against each other in the final in Tashkent while the runners-up will clash to claim the third place in Hisor.
CAFA has six members — Afghanistan, Islamic Republic of Iran, Kygryz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. Oman and India are the two invited sides for the second edition of the CAFA Nations Cup.
The CAFA Nations Cup is returning for its second edition and will be jointly hosted by Uzbekistan and Tajikistan. Iran are the defending champions after defeating Uzbekistan 1-0 in the final of 2023 edition.
