Islamabad United rode a scintillating knock from the 19-year-old Sameer Minhas (82 not out off 48) and an all-round display by skipper Shadab Khan (69 not out off 39 and 3/23) to thrash Quetta Gladiators by eight wickets in the ninth match of Pakistan Super League 2026, on Thursday (April 2) at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
The Gladiators posted a 183-run total, powered by Hasan Nawaz's undefeated half-century after Shadab struck thrice in quick succession in the middle overs. In response, the Sherus lost Devon Conway (18 off 19) and Andries Gous (2 off 4) cheaply but the unbroken 128-run stand between Minhas and Shadab drove them past the target in 18.2 overs.
Islamabad thus found their first victory of the season after a defeat and a washed-out game.
