The Rehabilitation Centre, planned on the lines of the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage in Sri Lanka, is India's first elephant rehabilitation centre. The centre, aimed at providing protection to abandoned, orphaned, injured and older elephants, is expected to have an elephant museum, mahout training center, super-specialty hospital, a retirement home and crematorium for the animals.
