The Indian Parliament is to have a discussion surrounding "Operation Sindoor," the four-day military engagement between India and Pakistan that occurred in May. Both the ruling party and the opposition have taken strong stances on the issue.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to address Parliament later today, around 7 pm, to take part in the ongoing discussion.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to lead the government's position in the Lok Sabha, with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh initiating the debate in the Rajya Sabha.

The parliamentary discussion, which also covers the recent Pahalgam terror attack, commenced on Monday after a week of disruptions. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its allies have lauded the Modi administration for its decisive military response to what it terms "Pakistan’s terror-sponsoring forces."

They have also criticized the opposition for questioning the capabilities of the Indian armed forces.

Conversely, opposition parties have strongly condemned the central government for what they allege were significant security lapses.

They have also pointed to claims made by US President Donald Trump regarding a ceasefire between the two nations and are demanding to know why the terrorists responsible for the Pahalgam attack have not yet been apprehended.
