Indian family was found dead near the Canada-US border after illegally trying to cross over to US, the NDTV report said.

The dead bodies that have been recovered included of five adults and one child under the age of three, it said.

According to the report in NDTV, Indian family was among the six people found dead in marsh near the border.

The report identified the other dead people from a family of Romanian descent with Canadian passports.

It stated that the first body was found during an aerial search of the area.

There has also been a recovery of a passport, which is also of an infant and the teams have been deputed to make the recovery of the body from the marshy area, it said.

The autopsy has been conducted of the dead bodies and final reports are awaited, it mentioned.

The dead bodies as per the report were found near a capsized boat belonging to a missing man.

The missing man belonged to the Akwesasne Mohawk community, it said.

Mohawk tribal territory straddles the Canadian provinces of Quebec and Ontario, and the US state of New York.

The report also said the increase in people passing through Akwesasne gaining entry into the US, with 48 crossings since the start of the year.

“Once landing on the US side, they are typically picked up on shore and transported by vehicle into New York State,” the report quoted as the official having said.
