Batwara 1947 box office collection: Sunny Deol-led Partition drama hit the theatres on August 14. Despite buzz, promotions, huge ensemble cast and production banner, the film failed to live up to expectations. On Day 8, it failed to earn even ₹1 crore at the box office. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film earned only ₹75 lakhs net at the domestic box office on Day 8 (Friday). It saw a 44.4% drop from Day 7's (Thursday) net collection of ₹1.35 crore. This brings total India net collections to ₹34.35 crore (₹40.77 crore gross).
Overseas, Batwara 1947 collected only ₹50 lakhs, taking its overseas gross to ₹8.25 crore.
This worldwide gross collection of Sunny's film stands at Rs ₹49.02 crore.
Occupancy and show details
Batwara 1947 was screened across 3,211 shows on Day 8, registering an overall occupancy of 11.39%. Morning shows opened with an occupancy of 3.46% and saw a rise to 8.15% in the afternoon. It witnessed a decline at 7.92% in the evening and peaked at 18.23% during the night shows.

Set against the backdrop of the 1947 Partition, the narrative follows Sikandar Mirza's (Deol) struggle. He moves to Pakistan with his family and discovers a Hindu woman living upstairs who refuses to leave her home. As tensions escalate, the plot centres on his efforts to protect her while keeping his own family safe.
It is backed by Aamir Khan Productions and directed by Rajkumar Santoshi. The film also stars Preity Zinta, Shabana Azmi, Ali Fazal, Abhimanyu Singh, Karan Deol, and Kanikka Kapur in pivotal roles
