ENG Vs IND, 3rd T20I: Suryakumar Yadav Ton In Vain; India Take Series 2-1 - Highlights

Chasing England's 215/7 in the third T20I, India lost the match by 17 runs in Nottingham. Catch highlights and cricket scores of ENG vs IND.

India almost pulled off their biggest chase in T20Is on Sunday. Chasing a 216-run target in front of a packed Trent Bridge, Suryakumar Yadav scored a magical century, but the job was left unfinished, departing in the penultimate over for 117 off 55. Needing 21 in the last over, India could manage only three runs to lose by 17 runs. India already took the series with victories in the first two matches.

England captain Jos Buttler won the toss and opted to bat first. On a day made perfect for batting, both sides loaded their respective teams with batters and opted for inexperienced bowlers. Result, loads of loads of runs. Once again, India made four changes, making a wholesome change in the bowling attack. England also made a couple of changes. Then, England posted 215/7 with Dawid Malan and Liam Livingstone hitting 77 off 39 and 42 not out off 29 respectively. Ravi Bishnoi and Harshal Patel claimed a brace each.

India started their chase on the worst possible note, losing the top three for 31 runs inside five overs. Then arrived Suryakumar Yadav, bringing his biggest guns and loaded with all the ammunition he has got. The next highest score in the Indian innings was a not-so-fluent 28 off 23 from Shreyas Iyer. Reece Topley claimed three wickets for 22, while Chris Jordan and David Willey got a brace each.

But, as they say, India were too hot for England in the first two outings. A comfortable 49-run win on Saturday in Birmingham sealed a fourth successive series win against England. 24 hours later, Rohit Sharma & Co. were looking for a fifth clean sweep in seven series, and a first against England. But it wasn't to be. India had won the first T20I in Southampton by 50 runs. The T20Is will be followed by three ODIs at The Oval on July 12, at Lord's on July 14 and at Old Trafford on July 17.
