Australian skipper Marsh picked up the injury during training, leading to testicular bleeding and was ruled out of the match just 15 minutes before the toss.
Australia received an early jolt when their stand-in captain, Travis Head was run out early but the Aussie batter steadied the ship and batted well on a slow wicket to take their team to a decent total of 182/6 in 20 overs. Marcus Stoinis topped the scoring chart for AUS with a well-paced 45-run innings.
In reply, Ireland lost Paul Stirling in the first over as he retired out due to a hamstring injury he sustained while fielding. They kept losing wickets at regular intervals and eventually got bundled out at 115/10 in 16.5 overs.
Nathan Ellis and Adam Zampa picked up four wickets each to skittle Ireland 68 runs short of the target. Ellis was declared the 'Player of the Match' for his heroics with the ball.
