Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has hit back at ally Congress over its objection to the full rendition of Vande Mataram at an official event.
Abdullah said the current rules make standing for the full national song a statutory obligation and questioned whether Congress wanted Kashmiris to face legal action over it.
The dispute has exposed differences between the Congress and National Conference over the full version of Vande Mataram, despite the parties being allies in Jammu and Kashmir.
