Education, Employment Priorities For First-Time Voters In Chhattisgarh’s Dantewada District

The polling booth in the Palnar village of Dantewada district saw high voter turnout – including a large number of women - today in the first phase of voting for the Chhattisgarh Assembly Elections. Twelve seats in the Bastar region went to polls on November 7 amid heavy security cover.

Outlook’s Rakhi Bose was in Palnar and talked to first-time voter and student Jiteshwari Sinha, who hopes that her vote will help elect a responsible government.

"Education and gainful employment of youth is the biggest demand for residents like us, who want good jobs and decent salaries. Voting is the only way to elect a responsible government," she said.
